PRINTFUL — Mockup Push Flow Redesign

Problem
Hotjar data showed users were skipping the mockup push step entirely, despite it being a high-demand feature. Users were confused by the design, couldn't tell where their design would land in their store or in what order, and had no clear way to add different mockups to different variants. Mockup maker had become a premium feature people were actively avoiding.

Iteration
Ran two full rounds of user testing. V1 testing exposed the biggest issue right away, users had no idea which images were actually being pushed to their store, and color/variant selection was confusing across the board. Iterated through three low-fi versions between tests, each one cutting functionality that wasn't working (an early version tried showing every mockup style at once, which tested poorly and got cut) and adding what users actually needed, default mockup selection, clearer placement tags, a grid view showing exactly what would be pushed.

Solution
A simplified flow with clear tabs for main versus additional mockups, a live preview showing exactly what would push to the storefront, simple checkboxes for placement instead of a repetitive row-by-row setup, and a tooltip clarifying how to set a main image.

Outcome
V2 testing hit 100% task completion on selecting a mockup and choosing the correct variant, 98% on selecting the main mockup image, and 96% on understanding which images would push to store. This was one of the most stakeholder-heavy projects I've worked on, multiple dev team dependencies and a lot of competing constraints, and the final product came in close to full user, stakeholder, and dev satisfaction.
